Jacqueline Fernandez grew up in Bahrain, Manama. She is Sri Lankan and comes from an ethnically diverse background. Her father, Elroy Fernandez, is from Sri Lanka. There are two brothers as well as an older sister. Because of the turmoil in Sri Lanka, her family were forced to relocate to Bahrain in the late 1980s. Following her education in Bahrain and after that, she received a Scholarship to study at the University of Sydney, where she earned a degree with a major in Media and Communications in Sydney, Australia. To enhance her passion for cultures, languages and other languages, she joined the Berlitz schools of languages in order to learn Spanish and also improve her French and Arabic. Miss Sri Lanka 2006 won Miss Universe 2006 competition in March 2006. She also participated as Miss Universe 2006 also. In 2006 she won the Miss Sri Lanka title. Following that, she stepped into television to host a program on Sri Lankan companies named Lanka Business Report. Padukone (the daughter of the badminton players Prakash Padukone) was born and grew up in Bangalore. In her teens, she played in national level badminton tournaments. She later resigned from playing and went on to become a designer. Padukone is of Mangalorean background and her native language is Konkani. Padukone is a village located in the Kundapura Taluk of Karnataka's Udupi District. Prakash Padukone has retired as an internationally renowned badminton athlete Her mother, on the other hand, is also a travel agent.
